American star Kelsey Robinson returns to Conegliano
2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women
Treviso, Italy, February 1, 2017. Kelsey Robinson – a bronze medallist from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and gold medal winner from the 2014 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship with Team USA – has recently returned to Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO, one of two Italian teams competing in this year’s CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women.
‘Kesh’, as she is nicknamed, had a great season with Imoco Volley last year helping the team from Conegliano seize the crown in the Italian national league and receiving the award for the MVP of the championship series. She continued her success story during the summer playing for Team USA and settling for bronze at the Rio 2016 Olympics. After that, she moved to China spending the first half of the 2016/2017 season with BEIJING Qiche.
However, the Illinois-born spiker has now returned to Europe and more specifically to Italy and to Conegliano. “This is a truly special place for me. I had many options to choose among and eventually decided to come back here to play again with an excellent coach such as Davide Mazzanti,” Robinson said, “a great club and our crazy fans. I feel ready to help Imoco Volley reach out for the highest goals in every competition we take part in.”
Robinson will make her Champions League debut on Wednesday, February 8 when Imoco Volley host Poland’s Chemik POLICE at Palaverde in Treviso.
