Sasa Starovic pleased to join PAOK on eve of big match with TOURS VB
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Thessaloniki, Greece, February 1, 2017. Serbian star player Sasa Starovic recently joined the ranks of PAOK THESSALONIKI. He travelled to Greece’s second largest city on Monday and on Tuesday night attended a press conference – with PAOK President Antonis Tsalopoulos introducing him to a large number of media.
Starovic said he is pleased to join one of the greatest clubs in Europe – and to do so on the eve of the CEV Volleyball Cup match that PAOK will be playing on Wednesday night against France’s TOURS VB. “PAOK is one of the biggest clubs in Europe, it has a great history and great players. PAOK has a long tradition in many sports. I have already completed my first training with the team, I know that they have taken two consecutive national championship titles in Greece and as far as I am concerned, I will do whatever I can in order to achieve further success.”
Starovic continued: “I would also like to thank the president and the people of PAOK who were waiting for me to come to their team. On Wednesday we have a difficult game against TOURS VB and we will do our best.”
As for his new club, Starovic commented: “I know the people of PAOK very well, because in Serbia I support Partizan, so I know them. I expect a warm atmosphere for this game. I hope many fans will be there and will celebrate our victory against TOURS VB. I am very pleased with the warm welcome I received from the people of PAOK, and as I have said before, I come from Serbia where we have the same culture regarding sports. As far as the facilities of the club are concerned, they are simply excellent and I am very happy with this.”
