Daviti Chachua – The Volleyball musician from Georgia
2017 CEV U19 Volleyball European Championship - Men
Sofia, Bulgaria, January 15, 2017. Stay positive. Keep working. Never stop believing. Three golden Volleyball rules if you want your dreams to come true. The outside spiker of the Georgian U19 men’s national team, Daviti Chachua knows these rules very well. His team lost all of their three matches in Pool G in Sofia, and didn’t manage to win a set, but one player left a mark with his Volleyball skills and not only.
Definitely, Daviti Chachua tried to do his best during all matches. He has a strong character and lives every single moment very emotionally – from the first to the last minute. Daviti was born on January 7, 2000 and he first played Volleyball at the age of 11.
“I have only one main goal which is my biggest dream too – to become a great Volleyball player and to represent Georgia at the Olympics one day,” Chachua said. His favourite Volleyball player is the French ace Earvin Ngapeth and just like him, Daviti likes listening to music. Something more, music plays a special role in his life.
“This is one of my hobbies. I like listening to different kind of music – house, rap etc. Before a match, I always listen rap. It helps me stay focussed and motivate myself even more,” adds the 185 cm tall outside spiker.
Daviti spent seven years attending a music high school and he has another interesting talent – he plays the piano. During his stay in Sofia, he found a piano in the lobby of the hotel where Team Georgia was staying and spontaneously he decided to play something. Many people, including players from other teams, officials, guests and staff of the hotel, ended up gathering around him to listen to what the Volleyball musician from Georgia was playing.
“It was a special moment. I just saw the piano and I wanted to play something. I felt like I had to do it and I did it”, Daviti explains. “I love music, but Volleyball is my life!” he concluded.
