Posojilnica determined to put up a fight against Arago de SETE
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Bleiburg, Austria, December 30, 2016. This coming Wednesday, January 4 Austria’s vice-champions Posojilnica AICH/DOB will begin their journey in the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men by hosting French heavyweight Arago de SETE at JUFA Arena in Bleiburg. Posojilnica – now coached by Matjaž Hafner – have already gained some valuable international experience in the MEVZA Cup this season and are eager to challenge the French giant.
Arago de SETE had bad luck in the opening stages of the CEV Volleyball Champions League, eventually losing to Slovenia’s national champs ACH Volley LJUBLJANA. “Still, we know that a mighty opponent is awaiting us. Our team consists of some young and internationally inexperienced players, so on Wednesday night we will definitely be the underdogs,” said Posojilnica sports Manager Martin Micheu adding, “We know the class and quality of SETE and beating a French team would be one of the greatest achievements in the history of our club.”
Head coach Matjaž Hafner, who has been intensively preparing his team for the match against the French rivals, said: “We are aware that Arago de SETE play high-class Volleyball at the moment. However, our team has the potential to win if the players are able to keep the level of performance they have shown lately. We are well-prepared and eager to win by relying also on the help of our fans.”
Posojilnica have a very passionate and enthusiastic audience in Bleiburg that will definitely contribute to a great atmosphere. “A sensation on Wednesday night is possible as the team can play without any pressure against the French heavyweight and can take a lot of risks in all aspects of the game. I am sure our rookies will display their best effort to challenge this great opponent,” Mr Micheu concluded.
