‘Match of the Week’ coming up in Ankara with Halkbank playing PERUGIA
2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Ankara, Turkey, December 5, 2016. Halkbank ANKARA and Sir Sicoma Colussi PERUGIA are expected to deliver the real highlight in the first week of action for the group stage of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men. This is indeed the ‘Match of the Week’ to be broadcast live and for free on LAOLA1.tv and as the head coach of Halkbank, Camillo Placì, said, “this is going to be a tough game. Knowing what kind of a roster the Italians can rely on, we have to be extremely careful and stick with the game plan we have developed.”

Placì added: “However, we have very talented home and foreign players in our roster as well, so they will have to find the right solutions to stop us too. Baskent Volleyball Hall will certainly witness a real Volleyball party with some of the world’s best players fighting each other while standing on opposite sides of the net. I expect a high-quality game and we are ready to fight.”

Halkbank team captain Ivan Miljkovic said: “This match comes at a difficult moment for us. PERUGIA have managed to sign many good players as they have set the highest goals for their participation in the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League. We will try to use the home-court advantage and the support of our fans to play our best match this season thus far. If we succeed in doing so, I am sure we will continue in the same way and cause more surprises. Right now we just need this one.”

Vice-captain Burutay Subasi added: “Halkbank always set the bar high. We started this season with the same high goals we had in the past. We have a new team and a new coach, but despite this, we trust each other and are ready to fight. We will be standing in front of PERUGIA with that same attitude. We want to take three points with the support of our fans.”
