Hungary’s champions await CL debut together with more than 2,000 fans
2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women
Békéscsaba, Hungary, November 1, 2016. Linamar BÉKÉSCSABAI RSE are making history for Hungary’s Volleyball family – and they will be doing so on Tuesday, November 1 when they contest their first historic match in the elite CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women against Agel PROSTEJOV of the Czech Republic. A special uniform has been designed for the occasion and the players wore it for the first time at a press conference organised prior to the matchup with the Czech champions.
“Volleyball has become more and more popular in Hungary over the last few years and we think that this process and positive trend can continue with the participation of Linamar in the CEV Volleyball Champions League,” said club president Adam Baran. “We will be trying to use to the fullest the opportunity provided by the CEV to play in this year’s Champions League. We will be hosting Agel PROSTEJOV together with more than 2,000 fans attending the match.”
“Last year we completed the national league by scoring as many as 37 consecutive victories, so the pressure on us has grown bigger. The team has further improved this year, by I would say 25-30%, and we certainly were further inspired by our participation in this competition. We feel ready and can’t wait to start,” said head coach Sasa Nedeljkovic.
“After successfully contesting the European Championship qualifiers with the national team, it feels good to be back with the club and I think we can use the positive mood from the time with the national team also for the upcoming matches in the CEV Volleyball Champions League,” concluded Zsuzsanna Talas, the setter of Hungary’s national team and of Linamar BÉKÉSCSABAI RSE.
