Galatasaray sign sponsorship agreement with leading sports apparel manufacturer Hummel

Istanbul, Turkey, May 4, 2016. Galatasaray Sports Club, whose portfolio includes the women’s Volleyball team of Galatasaray Daikin and men’s team of Galatasaray HDI Insurance, recently signed a technical sponsorship agreement with Hummel, one of the world’s leading sports apparel manufacturer. The sponsorship agreement includes not only Galatasaray’s Volleyball branch but also the basketball teams of Turkey’s giant.
On May 3, 2016 a press conference and a signing ceremony were held at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Türk Telekom Arena, which hosts the headquarters of Galatasaray Sports Club. Galatasaray Board Member Ali Yüce and Hummel Turkey’s CEO and Board Chairman Zeynel Akbulut represented the two partners at the event.
Galatasaray Board Member Ali Yüce, who is also the responsible Board member for Galatasaray’s Volleyball branch, stated that Galatasaray Daikin made it this season to the final stage of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women (where they lost to Russia’s Dinamo KRASNODAR) and managed to do so with a roster of 14 players, including nine literally ‘grown’ at Galatasaray Volleyball Academy.
Mr. Yüce continued: “We already set the bar even higher for the new season. We aim to win the 2017 edition of the CEV Volleyball Cup and to be one of the favourites to win the 2017 Turkish national league. We also raised the goals for our men’s team in the next season. I sincerely believe that Hummel will have a major positive influence on our course in these challenging roads we are about to take. With this sponsorship, Hummel products designed for Galatasaray’s Volleyball and basketball teams will be sold at GS Store branches, and both collections will be available to fans at Hummel stores all around the world. This way our fans will be able to find Galatasaray products all around the world and every product our fans buy from these collections will provide a major financial benefit to our club.”
