Turkish rookies TRABZON claim Challenge Cup semi-final spot

Trabzon, Turkey, February 24, 2016. Turkey’s TRABZON Idman Ocagi added on Wednesday night another chapter to their success story in what is their first participation in the European Cups. The team from Turkey qualified for the semis of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Women following their 3-0 home victory (27-25, 25-18, 25-23) over Switzerland’s Sm’ AESCH Pfeffingen.
Two weeks ago TRABZON had claimed an even more comfortable 3-0 win in Switzerland and the winners of the 2015 BVA Cup secured their progression to the semis already after claiming two sets from their re-match with the team from the outskirts of Basel.
In the semis TRABZON will challenge Russia’s Zarechie ODINTSOVO, the team that claimed top honours in the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup back in 2014 by edging another Turkish side in the final, Besiktas ISTANBUL.
