Galatasaray determined to use their last chance to stay alive in Challenge Cup
2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Men
Istanbul, Turkey, January 27, 2016. Thursday is a crucial day for Galatasaray HDI ISTANBUL, as the re-match that will be played at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall with Calzedonia VERONA is their last chance to stay alive in the 2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men. Galatasaray lost last week’s first match with the Italians by 1-3 and therefore they have to storm back if they want to continue their European journey this season.
Last week Galatasaray showed that they have what it takes to stand a chance against one of the most challenging teams competing in the Italian national league. However, they lacked the necessary consistency to be able to have the upper hand in the end. Since Calzedonia VERONA took three points from their 3-1 home victory, now they ‘only’ need to win two more sets to move on to the 2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
Their player Carmelo Gitto stated to BluVolleyChannel that Calzedonia VERONA are determined to make it through to the next round without taking any risks.
Galatasaray HDI Colombian opposite Liberman Agamez said that all players on the team are aware that this is their last chance to stay alive in the competition. He also stated that it has been a difficult season for Galatasaray HDI so far and that the hosts want to break this chain of frustration with an important, yet clearly very difficult-to-achieve victory.
