Dinamo MOSCOW want to take their revenge in matchup with PARIS Volley
2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men
Moscow, Russia, January 18, 2015. Dinamo MOSCOW will be hosting on Wednesday night PARIS Volley for a match on schedule for Round 5 of the 2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men. The Russians will be trying to make amends for the rather surprising 2-3 loss they suffered in early December in the French capital. The teams currently ranked second and third in Pool B will be crossing their ways in Moscow.
It is time for the deciding matches in Pool B of Europe’s elite competition. After forfeiting their away match at Ziraat Bankasi ANKARA, Dinamo MOSCOW cannot afford any more mistakes or setbacks and have to record to wins in a row to secure their progression to the Playoffs. This mission will start on January 20 when Dinamo will be hoping to get the right support from their home fans in an effort to upset PARIS Volley.
The Russian Superleague just resumed after a long break of 24 days due to the Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Berlin where the players of Dinamo chiefly contributed to Russia’s success. As a result, Russia will be able to defend their Olympic gold from London at Rio 2016 later this summer.
However, after missing some of their key players for so long and due to a lack of practice, on January 13 Dinamo lost 2-3 to Fakel NOVY URENGOY their first match of the New Year. However, everything worked just fine only a few days later when the Muscovites cruised to a compelling 3-0 win in their matchup with Guberniya NIZHNIY NOVGOROD. Dinamo are currently ranked second in the standings of their national championship, three points adrift from current leaders Zenit KAZAN.
Dinamo MOSCOW head coach Oleg Antonov (pictured) said: “We think only of a victory in the match with PARIS Volley. This is our only option. This match is of extremely high importance for our progression to the Playoffs. We will try to show good Volleyball on Wednesday night and to win.”
