Jihostroj keep perfect record in national league before CEV Cup rematch with DÜREN
2016 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, December 13, 2015. This coming Wednesday Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE will be hosting Germany’s SWD powervolleys DÜREN for a remake of their match from two weeks ago in the Round of 16 of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men. The Germans came back strong from two sets down and eventually used the home ground advantage to edge past the Czechs at the tie-break.
Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE are in fine form and still haven’t lost a match in the Czech national league. On Saturday they edged ČEZ KARLOVARSKO at the tie-break to keep their immaculate record in the competition. “The first two sets were very bad for us; we made too many mistakes and on the other hand their spikers looked almost unstoppable. Our opponent also did a very good job at blocking. However, we did not give up, we stepped up our efforts, improved our game and we finally won,” recounts Jihostroj’s head coach Jan Svoboda.
“I am happy with the victory in the match against KARLOVARSKO and now we can focus entirely on our next clash with DÜREN on Wednesday. I think we are well prepared for that,” says outside spiker Tomas Fila.
Opposite Jakub Pochop is coming back from injury and after missing the match with KARLOVARSKO, he will be back in time for the remake of the clash with the SWD powervolleys DÜREN.
