Galatasaray ISTANBUL ready to host VDK Gent Dames
2016 CEV Volleyball Cup - Women
Istanbul, Turkey, December 9, 2015. Galatasaray ISTANBUL are hosting on Thursday night Belgium’s VDK GENT Dames for the first round of action in the Round of 16 of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women. The Belgians have made it to this stage after a golden set victory over VC SNEEK of The Netherlands and therefore have to be reckoned with as a hard nut to crack. The match will start at 7pm local time and will be played at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall.
Galatasaray ISTANBUL are currently ranked third in Turkey’s national league with nine victories in ten matches they have played so far. VDK GENT Dames, on the other hand, top the charts of the Belgian national league. The goal that the hosts have set is to beat their opponent in straight sets to get the right edge for the second round coming up next week in Belgium. However, they know that this is not an easy task to accomplish.
Galatasaray coach Ataman Güneyligil says: “The task is not easy. We can say that these two teams are quite similar to each other since their respective rosters are mainly composed of young players who are eager to win. VDK GENT Dames is a team that plays fast volleyball. As I said before, our job tomorrow is not an easy one.”
