ASUL LYON back on track after CEV Cup setback
2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Men

Lyon, France, December 2, 2015. After losing twice to Germany’s SWD powervolleys DÜREN in the opening round of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Cup, France’s ASUL LYON Métropole resumed their European campaign on Wednesday night in the 16th Finals of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men and they did so in style with their 25-20, 25-19, 25-16 home win over Finland’s Loimu RAISIO.

The home heroes were determined to do well before their fans and they eventually did so, with their classy performance being paced by the Bulgarian duo comprising opposite Vladimir Nikolov and libero Vladislav Ivanov. The Finns could not find an answer to the strong serves of the French team which in the end piled up as many as 14 aces in only three sets. As everything worked just fine, the home mentor Fabrice Chalendar decided to use some of his young players and second lines and in the end following this classy performance and easy home win, LYON got the right edge for the return match which is coming up next week in Finland. Loimu RAISIO, on the other hand, will have to improve on what they did on Wednesday night if they want to stand a chance of moving on to the next round of the competition.
