After two solid matches Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK vie for their first CL victory
2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men

Innsbruck, Austria, November 30, 2015. When they host Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA on Thursday, December 3 at Olympiahalle in Innsbruck, Austria’s champions Hypo Tirol will be determined to vie for their first victory in Pool D of the 2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men after losing their previous matches to 2015 gold medallists Zenit KAZAN of Russia and Turkey’s giants Halkbank ANKARA.

The mentor of Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK, Daniel Gavan says: “We want to collect more points and this time not through a 2:3 loss [like in Ankara] but through a victory. Sure it will be a tough fight, since both teams can play at a very similar level but I believe that we can bring home a win in front of our home crowd if we are able to maintain our focus from start to end.”

The players around team captain Gregor Ropret delivered two great performances so far in Pool D of the 2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League putting up a big battle at home against Zenit KAZAN and taking one point from their 2:3 loss against Halkbank ANKARA in Turkey. The Tiroleans want to confirm their high level of play in their upcoming home match against Montenegro’s multiple champions Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA and are hoping to take the next step and be able to celebrate their first CL victory this season.

The teams are entering a very deciding phase of Europe’s finest club competition. Soon after the home match this week Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK will travel to Budva for the away game which is due to take place on December 17, 2015. The results of these two games will have a huge impact on the outcome of this year’s Champions League campaign for the Austrian champions.

The players of Hypo Tirol are extremely focussed and the home match against Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA is greatly anticipated. “We are really looking forward to our next home match at Olympiahalle. The crowd is amazing and we are very focussed and well prepared for the matchup against BUDVA. We both lost our first two matches in this pool and one of us will take his first win. We will do everything we can to show another great performance to our fans. It will be important to stay focussed and play point by point,” states team captain Gregor Ropret before the game.
