Youngsters of Topvolley Callant ANTWERP looking forward to first European match of 2015-2016 season
2016 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Antwerp, Belgium, November 2, 2015. Belgium’s Topvolley Callant ANTWERP will be making their debut in the 2016 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men on Wednesday night when they host Greece’s Foinikas SYROS.
“We’re really looking forward to it,” says Sven Sophie, assistant coach and second setter of the Belgian team. “For a lot of our players, this is a new experience since they haven’t played a lot of international matches so far in their careers. But at the moment, we are confident: we played well in our last practice games and won our first two official matches, one in the national league against Amigos ZOERSEL, and the other one in the national cup against Haasrode-Leuven. So we are in a good flow, and we feel a positive vibe. But this is still a young group so we have to keep in mind that it can go down also.”
“Foinikas SYROS looks to be an opponent who does not play spectacular but decent Volleyball,” he continues. “They have a lot of big players. But in front of our home crowd and with the support of the Antwerp fans, we hope to perform well so we can get a good result ahead of the away match which is due to follow in two weeks.”
