Halkbank open season stunning arch-rivals Arkas in Turkey’s Championship Cup

Bursa, Turkey, October 28, 2015. In a matchup starring two teams set to represent Turkey in the upcoming 2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men, Halkbank ANKARA edged Arkas IZMIR in three straight sets (25-17, 25-17, 25-16) to claim their first trophy of a still young season, Turkey’s Spor Toto Championship Cup.
The match was contested at Cengiz Göllü Volleyball Hall in Bursa between the winners of last year’s Turkish Cup – Halkbank – and national league – Arkas IZMIR. Halkbank’s middle blocker Kevin Le Roux – who recently won gold at the men’s EuroVolley with France’s national team – received the award for the MVP from the hands of Turkish Volleyball Federation President and CEV Vice President & Treasurer, Mr Özkan Mutlugil.
Mr Mutlugil also presented the trophy to the winners of the competition.
