LP SALO host rather unknown Israeli opponent in CEV Cup home debut

Salo, Finland, October 27, 2015. Lots of questions have been asked to the players and coaching staff of Finland’s multiple champions LP SALO who on Thursday will make their debut in the 2016 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women playing Israel’s HAIFA VC, an opponent they know very little about.
“We really do not know much about our opponents and it would be good to know some basic facts, like for instance how their setter prefers to play,” said one of the most experienced players on the roster of LP SALO, Serbian-born middle blocker Dubravka Rakic.
“I am very excited about the game and my first visit to Finland,” said the setter of HAIFA VC, Shany Peham, who earlier this summer performed with Israel’s national team in the CEV Volleyball European League. “We do not know much about the home team but I hope that we are ready for this match.”
The coach of HAIFA VC, Haim Kessel, was impressed with the warm welcome the Israeli delegation received in Salo. “We feel really welcome here. We can see that LP SALO is an experienced club and their organisation runs smoothly. I am just a little bit nervous because we haven’t had any tough matches so far this season.”
LP SALO will play HAIFA VC at Salohalli on Wednesday, October 28, with the match starting at 6:30 pm local time.
