Hypo Tirol complete perfect home season by sweeping eighth national league title in 11 years

Innsbruck, Austria, April 24, 2015. After sweeping four straight matches in the Championship series with archrivals Posojilnica AICH/DOB, Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK crowned a perfect season with their eight Austrian national league title in 11 years. This time around, however, the achievement was somewhat special since the team around Slovak mentor Stefan Chrtiansky went undefeated through the entire season.
“We are very happy that we were able to win the national league again,” he says. “I think that our performance in the final series showed the kind of hard work and dedication we have put throughout the entire season and we got rewarded for this. All players showed the right attitude and work ethic from start to end and this way we could stay undefeated in this year’s Austrian national league. Unfortunately we were not able to play our best in the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League, especially in the matches we lost to Precura ANTWERP and to Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE, and these losses in the end prevented us from making the Playoffs. Still, we had a great season and played consistently at a very high level.”
By winning the Austrian national league Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK also got the right to represent Austria in the 2016 edition of the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League.
