CL silver medallists and ‘Dream Team’ members Nowakowski and Drzyzga to stay with Asseco Resovia RZESZOW for another two seasons
2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men
Rzeszow, Poland, April 2, 2015. Only a few days after claiming a historic silver medal at the Final Four tournament of the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men in Berlin and making the elite ‘Dream Team’ as Best Setter and Best Middle Blocker respectively, Fabian Drzyzga and Piotr Nowakowski have announced that they will stay with Asseco Resovia RZESZOW for another two seasons.
Nowakowski has been playing for the team from southern Poland since 2011 whilst Drzyzga joined their ranks in 2013. They both won gold at last year’s FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship with the Polish national team. This season they helped Asseco Resovia make the Final Four of the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League for the first time in the club’s history winning silver and being chosen among the members of the tournament’s ‘Dream Team.”
“The most important thing is my team and its performance,” Drzyzga says. “Without my team I could not achieve anything on my own and so I would even change this individual award for a gold medal. Silver is good but maybe next year we can do better and win gold.”
Asseco Resovia has already made the Championship series of the PlusLiga waiting there for the winners of the other semi starring PGE Skra BELCHATOW and Lotos Trefl GDANSK. By making the final of the national league Asseco Resovia RZESZOW have already secured their participation in the 2016 edition of the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League.
