Trento, Italy, March 27, 2015. On Saturday night Energy T.I. Diatec TRENTINO will face Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE for the return match of the 2015 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men semifinals. The Italians have a little advantage, as they won the match in Poland by 3:2, but in any case they need to gain another victory in order to avoid a golden set and directly claim the ticket to the final.
TRENTINO dreams to reach a European Cup final for the fourth time in the last seven years. This time the team of Radostin Stoytchev will fight for a spot in the final clash for the second most prestigious club tournament. The squad captained by Emanuele Birarelli will show up with their complete roster so the Bulgarian head coach can count on his best players.
The Polish team’s roster features TRENTINO’ former player Kay Van Dijk, who scored 52 points in 9 matches last year. Together with the middle blocker Dick Kooy, he is the most insidious opponent for the Italian side.
“After the match played in Poland it is clear that the technical and tactical levels of both teams are similar,” stated Radostin Stoytchev. “We would make a big mistake then thinking we had already accomplished the hardest part of our task winning at the Azoty Arena. We expect a tough game, our performance in serving and blocking must be more effective than what we did in Kedzierzyn-Kozle. Fortunately we can count on our home-court advantage and our fans. PalaTrento always gives us an extra boost."
In fact, this season Energy T.I. Diatec has always won at home (16 wins in 16 matches) allowing the opponents to reach a tie-breaker on only two occasions.
The match on March 28 starts at 20:30 local time and will be broadcast live on local Radio Dolomiti and streamed live on LAOLA1.tv.
