Benfica host Italian top team in an effort to add another chapter to their success story

Lisbon, Portugal, March 23, 2015. Portugal’s Benfica LISBOA already wrote a piece of history by making the semis of the 2015 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men and on Wednesday night will be trying to add another chapter to their success story once they host Italy’s CMC RAVENNA for the first leg of the semis.
As they look forward to this match, the home heroes around coach José Jardim (pictured) are hoping to cause a sensation and make a first step towards the finals where they would play the winners of the semi starring Serbia’s Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD and Stroitel MINSK of Belarus.
“I see my players being very determined and focused on the achievement of this goal,” coach Jardim says. “We are about to host a great team with some outstanding players but we also have a good team and some great players too. This match will be an excellent chance to advertise the sport here in our country and I am hoping that as usual also on Wednesday our arena will be packed with fans supporting our team. The spirits are high and we want to win,” he concludes.
