Precura ANTWERP hope for a miracle to happen in re-match with ASSE-LENNIK
2015 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Antwerp, Belgium, March 10, 2015. After suffering a 0:3 loss last week, Belgium’s Precura ANTWERP will be playing on Wednesday once again their compatriots of Volley behappy2 ASSE-LENNIK in a match where a spot in the semis of the 2015 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men will be at stake. The winners of this double clash will get to play Russia’s Dinamo MOSCOW or Turkey’s Fenerbahce SK. ISTANBUL in the next-to-last stage of the competition.
“Of course ASSE-LENNIK are going into this match as the pre-favourites to claim a spot in the semis,” says Precura’s coach Geert Verreth who replaced Kris Tanghe at the helm of the team after their defeat to ASSE-LENNIK in the national cup finals in early February. “They already beat us in three sets in the Cup finals and once again they routed us with the same result last week. However we go into this match hoping to win the first or second set and after that we will get a clearer picture of what is possible for us. As we play before our great and always enthusiastic crowd, we believe that a miracle can happen. Last weekend we recorded a tight victory in our match with Prefaxis MENEN, so this way we got a boost of confidence and we hope that we are now back on track. ASSE-LENNIK, on the other hand, lost their match with Knack ROESELARE on Sunday, they played one day later than we did this weekend and this could possibly turn out to be a small advantage for us.”
