Rabita BAKU long for CEV Cup semi-final spot

Baku, Azerbaijan, March 10, 2015. Azerbaijan’s Rabita BAKU are on track to making the semis of the 2015 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women following their 3:1 away win from last week in France over BEZIERS VB. The return match is coming up on Thursday night at Sarhadchi Olympic Centre in Azerbaijan’s capital and will determine the side making the next-to-last stage of the competition.
If they achieve this feat, Rabita would celebrate their second appearance in the CEV Volleyball Cup semis since the club’s debut in the European Cups. The team has been preparing very intensively for the re-run of their match with BEZIERS VB under the guidance of their new head coach Zoran Gajic. “Our opponent is a good team and for this reason we have been preparing very intensively for this match,” he says. “We expect they will be playing much better than they did last week in France but our only goal is to delight the home crowd and win the second game as well. Right now our sight is set on making the semis of the CEV Volleyball Cup.”
Team captain Aurea Cruz adds: “We are very motivated to play even better than we did last week. We do not underestimate BEZIERS VB but I believe we have to focus more on our performance than on theirs.”
