Sold-out Atlas Arena expects another unforgettable Volleyball night
2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men

Belchatow/Lodz, Poland, February 19, 2015.  Nearly five months ago all the Polish fans in attendance at the Atlas Arena in Lodz had the opportunity to join an unforgettable fiesta after their heroes of the national team beat Brazil and Russia to progress to the semi-finals of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship. On Thursday night all of the 12,000 enthusiastic Volleyball supporters that will flock to the arena expect another success for Polish Volleyball as PGE Skra BELCHATOW play versus Cucine Lube TREIA. The Polish champions claimed the first match last week by 3:0 and after this impressive display they need only 2 sets to progress to the Playoffs 6 of the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men.

“We just cannot think in this way, we have to focus on this match and fight for the win, not for two sets,” states Miguel Angel Falasca. The PGE Skra BELCHATOW coach is well aware that despite the result in Italy, the rivalry has not been closed yet. “We play with the reigning Italian champions, and we meet an extremely dangerous opponent. We have put ourselves in a very good position, however it is only half of the way to the Playoffs 6.”

“We will fight for the win and will not allow ourselves to lose concentration. We will stay focused and will not disappoint the fans,” Srecko Lisinac, the Serbian-born middle blocker of PGE Skra adds. “The Italian team is very dangerous, and we move to the Atlas Arena for the first time in this season, but we are prepared for every challenge. We have to do our job and qualify to the next round.”

The Polish fans will get a chance to welcome back Bartosz Kurek. The former PGE Skra outside spiker did not play in the first match because of injury but came back on the field last weekend and will be ready to play on Thursday. Kurek had been also absent during the World Championship, so for him this will be the first time he plays at the Atlas Arena since… he had appeared there with the shirt of Dinamo MOSCOW two years ago. PGE Skra turned out to be better than his team back then and are expecting to repeat this feat also on Thursday.
