Resovia outclass ACH Volley to further cement leadership in Pool C
2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men
Rzeszow, Poland, January 21, 2015. Asseco Resovia RZESZOW celebrated on Wednesday night another victory, their fourth this season, in Pool C of the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men following their spectacular performance in the home match up with Slovenia’s ACH Volley LJUBLJANA (3:0; 25-19, 25-12, 25-16) to further cement their leadership in the group.
The match was simply one-sided and there is no such great story to tell at the end of a perfect night for the home heroes at Podpromie sports hall. Asseco Resovia outclassed their opponents in every aspect of the game and came out strong with all guns blazing leading by 11:8 in the first set. The hosts could hold on to their advantage and even widened it to cash the first set by the score of 25-19. The course of the game did not change also in the second set where Resovia set the pace at both technical time-outs (8:5, 16:8) and was able to control the match with ease all the way through the final 25-12. The third set was a pure formality for the home heroes. Resovia quickly set the tempo of the game once again (8:3, 16:10) and it was Marko Ivovic who sealed the final 25-16 for a speedy and comfortable home victory.
“Unfortunately tonight we did not play at a good level,” said ACH Volley team captain Andrej Flajs. “Asseco Resovia was simply better in every element and this we have to acknowledge, especially in reception and attack.”
“I totally agree with my player, we played worse than the hosts did in every aspect of the game,” added the mentor of ACH Volley, Tomislav Smuc.
“We are very happy with this victory, this is very important for us,” commented the team captain of Asseco Resovia, Lukasz Perlowski.
“We expected a more difficult match but we are glad that this way we could further cement our first place in this Pool,” said home mentor Andrzej Kowal. “We were able to keep our focus and our concentration throughout the whole match. Though we can be happy tonight, we have to win also next week in Budva to secure our spot in the Playoffs.”
