Mission accomplished for SCHWERINER SC in Challenge Cup home debut
2015 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Women
Schwerin, Germany, November 26, 2014. Germany’s SCHWERINER SC lived up to their status as pre-favourites going into their first home match of this year’s CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Women as they routed Belgium’s VC OUDEGEM in three sets (25-12, 25-13, 25-14) to make the next round of the competition.
About 1,100 fans got together in Schwerin to cheer on the home heroines who could easily claim their ticket to the next stage of the Challenge Cup. The only 13 Belgian fans that had travelled to Schwerin for the match go back home disappointed but also after accepting the tremendous show of power displayed by the home side.
Since their next opponent – Severodonchanka SEVERODONETSK of Ukraine – has withdrawn from the competition, SCHWERINER SC will enjoy a bye in the next round and resume their campaign in January to play there the eventual winners of the double header starring Austria’s ATSC Sparkasse KLAGENFURT and Asterix KIELDRECHT of Belgium.
