Galatasaray’s men stop Finnish ‘Hurricanes’ to make round of 32
2015 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Men
Istanbul, Turkey, November 19, 2014. On Wednesday Turkey’s Galatasaray FXTCR ISTANBUL qualified to the 16th final of the 2015 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men after scoring a 3:0 home victory (25-14, 25-21, 25-18) over Finland’s Hurrikaani LOIMAA to follow up on the 3:1 away win they had claimed two weeks ago.
“After suffering a close defeat in the last round of the Turkish national league, we had to clean up our minds and quickly focus on our next match,” says vice team captain Ibrahim Emet. “I believe that tonight we performed well and even though we struggled a bit in the middle of the second set we did not let it go. I am really happy with reaching the 16th final of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup.”
Galatasaray opposite player Kamil Baranek adds: “Tactically speaking I think that we reached our goal tonight. We served and attacked well. We did not give up also in defence and we stayed much focused even when we were well ahead in the score. The next round will be a real fight for us. I am glad to see that our hard work in practice is nowpaying dividends.”
