Dinamo MOSCOW simply too strong for Czech underdogs

Moscow, Russia, November 18, 2014. Russia’s giant Dinamo MOSCOW easily claimed also the return match on schedule for the 16th final of the 2015 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men by routing Czech Republic’s Fatra ZLIN in three straight sets (25-17, 25-13, 25-22) to follow up on the away victory they had recorded two weeks ago with the same score. As the match was visited by 1,500 fans in the Russian capital, Dinamo made the difference with their always outstanding serving and terrific blocks. Ivan Zaytsev was eventually voted MVP of the match with the Czechs after finishing the game with 15 points and 39% of efficiency in attack.
Alexander Kimerov – who is only 18 – killed five block stuffs for Dinamo. In the next round of the competition Dinamo will play the eventual winners of the fixture starring Landstede ZWOLLE of the Netherlands and Croatia’s MOK ROVINJ.
Dinamo’s assistant coach Oleg Antonov commented after the match: “It was an interesting game and I am evidently happy with our victory. Today we did not play with our usual starting six because we wanted to test some young players. I am happy that they perfectly coped with their task.”
MVP Ivan Zaytsev added: “We made too many mistakes towards the end of the sets and there the Czechs performed better than we did. We did not play that good and especially in some situations you could see that there is a lot of room for improvement. It is nevertheless good that we won this match in three sets and we qualified for the next round. I hope that this was an interesting match also for our fans.”
