Minsk, Belarus, April 28, 2014. The final stage of the men's championship of Belarus has come to a close with Stroitel MINSK winning its fifth consecutive national title. Stroitel won all its matches in the finals which took place in Grodno and in the capital Minsk.
After the first round in Grodno, the team from Minsk made for itself a good handicap - 9 points. In Minsk, the matches were held at the new Chyzhovka-Arena sports complex, where in May Belarus will also organize the second round of Pool F qualifications for the 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship - Men. All games were broadcast live on the national TV channel Belarus-5.
Already feeling at home at Chyzhovka, Stroitel showed some perfect performances. At the start of the tournament the guys from Minsk defeated BATE-BGU BORISOV by 3:1 (25-15, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23). They officially sealed the title in the second match with a 3:0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-13) victory over Shakhtior SOLIGORSK to finish the season off with another win, this time over Kommunalnik GRODNO by 3:2 (22-25, 25-27, 25-16, 25-19, 15-9).
Shakhtior claimed the silver medals and Kommunalnik took the bronze.
