Get well soon Aleh!
News from the clubs
Rzeszow, Poland, April 9, 2014. The team captain of Asseco Resovia RZESZOW, Belarus’ star player Aleh Akhrem, suffered a serious injury in the first match of the PlusLiga semi-final series with Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE. Akhrem, 31, broke the cruciate ligaments in his left knee, will have to undergo surgery and won’t be able to play for six months or even more.
Akhrem got injured during the third set of the first match with Zaksa with his side eventually losing at the tie-break before KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE went on to claim also the second leg, once more after five dramatic sets.
Akhrem – who is one of the most loved Volleyball players not only in Rzeszow but also among all Polish fans (see his profile here) – is apparently feeling very sad and depressed for he won’t be able to help his team on their quest for a third straight title in the national league.
With this in mind, the fan club of Asseco Resovia RZESZOW just organised a special action with the aim to support Akhrem by the time he is being confronted with these difficult circumstances. Anyone who wants to express his sympathy to Aleh and wish him a speedy recovery is invited to drop an e-mail to redakcja@resovia.rzeszow.pl. The fan club will then pull together all messages received into a book that will be handed over to Akhrem in the coming weeks.
*Asseco Resovia RZESZOW was one of three Polish teams competing in the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League where they made the Playoffs 6 losing there to their compatriots of JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel.
