Must-win situation for Galatasaray in re-match with RC CANNES

Istanbul, Turkey, January 22, 2014. Galatasaray Daikin ISTANBUL have only one goal on Thursday night as they re-play France’s RC CANNES in the Playoffs 12 of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women. They first have to win in straight sets or by 3:1 and then go for the golden set in order to continue their journey in Europe’s elite club competition. RC CANNES claimed the first match last week as they surprisingly cruised to a 3:1 victory at the “Palais des Victoires.”
“This is going to be quite a challenge,” says head coach Massimo Barbolini, “and we know that. The team is extremely motivated especially after the good game we played last weekend in the national league with VakifBank ISTANBUL. We do not want to let this one go and we are very motivated to make the next round.”
Galatasaray Daikin libero Nihan Güneyligil calls for the support of the fans: “Every supporter coming to see the game will be very precious. Our fans can turn from one into thousands with their unique support. I do rely on them from the bottom of my heart.”
