Italian rookies PIACENZA vie for golden set after setback in Zurich

Piacenza, Italy, January 20, 2014. RebecchiNMeccanica PIACENZA will be vying for a home revenge on Tuesday night at the Palabanca as Italy’s champions play host to Volero ZÜRICH of Switzerland in the second round of the Playoffs 12. Last Thursday Volero seized the night with a 3:1 home victory and therefore the Italian rookies will have to fight their way back if they want to make the Playoffs 6 of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women.
Volero is travelling to Italy with the extra motivation resulting from their home win at the Saalsporthalle. Rebecchi, on the other hand, needs a 3:0 or 3:1 victory to call for the golden set and possibly continue their first campaign in Europe’s elite club competition.
Many fans are expected to flock to the Palabanca especially as the home heroines will need their full support after a slow start into the New Year. They still haven’t won a game since January 1 and hope to stop that negative trend on Tuesday via this home clash with Volero.
