Romanian champions Tomis CONSTANTA have their sight set on CEV Cup Challenge Round
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men

Constanta, Romania, December 16, 2013. After upsetting Halkbank ANKARA last week by scoring a very surprising 3:1 away victory, Romania’s Tomis CONSTANTA will complete their duties in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men on Wednesday as they host Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK of Austria. Though the chances to make the Playoffs 12 were gone already last week, Tomis will be very motivated to seize the night so as to be promoted to the Challenge Round of the CEV Volleyball Cup.
Tomis will enter the game as the pre-favourite side after winning also the away game played some weeks ago in Austria (3:1). However, head coach Martin Stoev and his assistant Radu Began know that it won’t be that easy especially after last week Hypo Tirol played their best game this season as they hosted Poland’s JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel.
“After our victory in Ankara it would be very nice to end our campaign with another positive result and this time before our fans” says middle blocker Sergiu Stancu. “We hope to get three points from this game so as to make the Challenge Round of the CEV Cup. Stancu is returning back in action after he got injured in the game with ANKARA played last October 30.
“If we look at the results so far in this Pool, Tomis shall normally seize the night with Hypo Tirol” adds head coach Martin Stoev. “It is important to play good and win our last game in 2013.”
Tomis edged last Saturday Universitatea CLUJ in straight sets (25-19, 25-14, and 25-15) to finish the first half of the regular season in their national league top of the charts with a record of nine victories in ten matches played so far.
