Turkey’s heavyweight VakifBank to complete prelims by hosting Belgian rookie

Istanbul, Turkey, December 16, 2013. VakifBank ISTANBUL will be hosting Belgian rookie GENT Dames on Tuesday for the last round of action in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women. The 2013 club world champions and winners of last year’s edition currently top the charts in Pool C with 15 points before taking on their upcoming game at the Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall.
VakifBank already edged GENT Dames in straight sets some weeks ago as these sides crossed their ways in Belgium. “We started this season playing GENT Dames and we played good in Belgium, winning the first match of our campaign” says head coach Giovanni Guidetti. “We need to repeat that here at home so as to complete the prelims with a perfect record” he adds.
“This is our last game in the prelims and all members of the team want to play their best and seize the night” stresses team captain Gözde Sonsirma Kirdar. “I hope there will be many supporters cheering on us come Tuesday” she concludes.
