Olympiacos wants to bid farewell to CL with a home victory
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men
Piraeus, Greece, December 16, 2013. After missing out on the competition for three years, Olympiacos PIRAEUS will complete their journey in this year’s CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men with their last home game at the “Melina Merkouri” sports hall playing host to Czech champions VK OSTRAVA. Olympiacos already know they won’t make the Playoffs 12 but if they seize the night in straight sets or win 3:1, they still can be promoted to the Challenge Round of the 2014 CEV Volleyball Cup.
The local fans can’t wait for the last home show by the guys mentored by head coach Dimitris Kazazis. After claiming a very important victory in the national league over their arch-rivals Panathinaikos, Kazazis hopes that his guys will stretch their winning streak and beat also VK OSTRAVA. “We want to finish this campaign on a high note; the players, the coaching staff as well as our fans all want to claim a victory in this game with OSTRAVA. As we lost to Noliko MAASEIK in Belgium, we missed out on the chance to make the Playoffs 12. We were really upset but Olympiacos is a club with a very long and successful history in the European Cups, so we are ready to fight to live up to our tradition.”
