Knack ROESELARE determined to fight to make it to the semis
2013 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Roeselare, Belgium, January 21, 2013. This past Wednesday Knack ROESELARE was edged in three straight sets by Turkey’s Halkbank ANKARA in the first match scheduled for the Challenge Round of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Cup. However, Knack still hopes to make it to the semis of that competition by claiming the return match – as well as the eventual golden set – scheduled for this Wednesday at Schiervelde sports hall. This will be quite a special moment for the Belgian club, since that clash represents the 175th match played by Knack in the European Cups since their first appearance back in 1985.
“In Ankara we lost the match in straight sets mainly because of their exceptional performance from the serving line” says Knack head coach Emile Rousseaux. “However, I am sure that things will be different this Wednesday. Last week we were able to stand their quality in offense as well as in blocking, so if our serve works better than it did in Ankara, this may turn into a great Volleyball night for our team. I am sure that my young guys will be playing with glowing hearts up to the end with the sole aim being a positive result. We know that if we score a home win, a golden set will follow but we have nothing to lose and we are determined to fight right from the start”.
