Aurubis HAMBURG dreams of making it even further in first European campaign ever
2013 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Women
Hamburg, Germany, December 10, 2012. After claiming the first match (3:2) played last week in Croatia, Aurubis HAMBURG has laid down the right foundations for making it through the 1/16 finals of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup but will first have to edge once more ZOK RIJEKA in the return match that is coming up this Wednesday at “CU Arena”.
Aurubis comes from a positive streak of three consecutive wins that started some 10 days ago as the group bested SC POSTDAM in the Bundesliga, a result followed by the away win in Croatia and by another win in the national league, this time over Allianz STUTTGART. This streak shall be prolonged on Wednesday by the players mentored by Jean-Pierre Staelens in front of the home fans. This won’t be an easy task after ZOK RIJEKA showed this past week its skills and strength.
Aurubis will have to start out with the right pace but if the players display the same quality as well as consistency they showed this past Saturday against STUTTGART, they shall be able to make it to the next round of their first European campaign ever. Everyone can barely wait for this clash to come under the good omen of the slogan accompanying the club: “CU Arena: See you – Volleyball meets friends”.
