Easy task for Copra PIACENZA in Istanbul
2013 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Men
Istanbul, Turkey, November 23, 2012. Italy’s Copra Elior PIACENZA qualified on Thursday for the 16th finals of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup by scoring another 3:0 win – after having done so already last week in Italy – against ISTANBUL BBSK, winner of this year’s BVA Cup.
Copra Elior PIACENZA needed only 76 minutes to cruise to the final 3:0 (27-25, 25-19, and 25-18) even though two players of ISTANBUL BBSK, Brook Billings and Siarhei Antanovich, finished the game in double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively. With setter Luciano De Cecco in good shape, the spikers of Copra Elior – Alessandro Fei, Samuele Papi, Gabriele Maruotti, Maxwell Holt and Cuban star Robertlandy Simon (pictured) – could display their class and finish it off in about one hour. In the next round of the competition PIACENZA will play Selver TALLINN of Estonia.
