In spite of delay in preparing for upcoming season Dinamo remains potential contender for Champions League crown
News from the clubs
Moscow, Russia, November 24, 2011. Dinamo MOSCOW, in this sense surprising all journalists in attendance, joined the press conference held in Russia’s capital city for the start of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League with the complete roster of 14 players. “They are all equal to me” said head coach Boris Kolchin (pictured), “all of them are eligible to play and hence ready to answer your questions”. Kolchin and club director Vladimir Zinichev addressed the media by stating that Dinamo has set very high goals for this season. After signing Kolchin as head coach, Dinamo has the ambition to win at least one domestic competition – national league or cup – and advance to the final four of the CEV Volleyball Champions League.
“As far as our opponents are concerned, we know every week we have a tough match ahead of us” singled out Eva Yaneva. “Every team included in the starting field of the Champions League is a great side to deal with”.
The schedule for the Russian players included in the roster of Dinamo is very tight this year as the national team failed to make it to the World Cup and will have the chance to book a ticket for the Olympics only next year. “This is not an excuse for us” added Zinichev. “We did not have much time to practice with the complete group as our Russian players were busy with the Olympic pre-qualifier in Kaliningrad, but we hope to show our full potential very soon”.
