Very young but still motivated group to represent Crvena Zvezda in upcoming Champions League
News from the clubs
Beograd, Serbia, November 16, 2011. Serbia’s Crvena Zvezda BEOGRAD can’t wait for the start of a second consecutive campaign in the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League. The Serbian champion still has got very sweet memories from last season and although the group is once again very young, Crvena Zvezda will try to go for some excellent results.
According to head coach Ratko Pavlicevic the participation in the Champions League is a valuable experience for such young players: “Our main goal is to progress throughout the competition. We will try to take as many sets as we can from our rivals and of course possibly go for some major upsets” he says.
One of the most experienced players included in the roster, Tamara Rakic, says that the girls can’t wait for the start of the competition. “Our team is even younger than last year; the players that were added to the roster fit very well to the group but they do not have much experience. Anyway, I am convinced that we will represent properly our club also in this very elitist competition” she stresses.
Mr. Sinisa Pantovic will be the team manager of Crvena Zvezda for the upcoming season where BEOGRAD will play in the prelims Dinamo MOSCOW, Bank BPS Fakro MUSZYNA and Scavolini PESARO. “We have very high ambitions for all competitions we are about to enter and we will try to achieve some good results also in the Champions League” he concludes.
