Zaksa is not afraid of long break caused by Olympic qualifying events
News from the clubs

Warsaw, Poland, November 10, 2011. After enjoying a very promising start of its campaign in the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League, Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE will be missing 6 players in the coming weeks as they are busy with their national teams. “It will be very tough to have real training sessions with such a small group” says head coach Krzysztof Stelmach (pictured).
“After the last match of the national league in Bydgoszcz the players had a week off. Pawel Zagumny, Michal Ruciak and Patryk Czarnowski were selected to join our national team for the FIVB World Cup in Japan” stresses Stelmach, “but Guillaume Samica, Antonin Rouzier and Sergey Kapelus have also got back to their countries as they prepare for the Olympic pre-qualifiers scheduled for later this month. In order to train we will probably organize something together with the guys from our team competing in the youth national league”.

“We won’t play at all this month” explains Stelmach. “We have a match against AZS CZESTOCHOWA scheduled for December 2 and by this time our foreign players shall be back with us. However we do not have much to complain as our national team is fighting to book a ticket for the Olympics, we got the chance to join the World Cup via a wild card and this is a goal of the maximum importance”.

Zaksa is so far the only team with a perfect record in the national league with seven wins in as many matches. “We do not make any calculation, we play every match at our best and each game is equally important to our team” states Stelmach. “With a break of five weeks it looks like the league is composed of two rounds. Everything will start again in December but we are happy with the results we have claimed in the first part of the season” concludes the former international star.
