After easy win in domestic league Iraklis is ready for second round with CSKA SOFIA
News from the clubs
Thessaloniki, Greece, October 23, 2011. Only a few days before its second match in the prelims of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League against CSKA SOFIA in Bulgaria, the guys of Iraklis THESSALONIKI claimed their second match in the national league by edging Apollon KALAMARIAS in straight sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-20).
The team mentored by Sotirios Drikos displayed an excellent performance and controlled the game all the way through. The coach decided to rest 40-year old Andrej Kravarik who had played a great match this past Wednesday against Noliko MAASEIK and this time opted for Georgios Tzioumakas as his diagonal player. The only 16-year old Tzioumakas topped the charts of the best scorers for Iraklis by totaling 15 points while Sinan Cem Tanik contributed 14.
“It was good for us to rest Kravarik and give some playing time to our young guys. We are already focused on the next match with CSKA SOFIA, which is a very experienced team and has got some fanatic fans that will be supporting their heroes loudly. We will try to play our best and possibly win” comments Drikos.
Only four days after the match with CSKA SOFIA, Iraklis will continue its campaign in the national league by testing out the likes of G.C. LAMIA.
