Splendid home win for Halkbank ANKARA
2012 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Ankara, Turkey, October 20, 2011. Turkey’s Halkbank ANKARA enjoyed yesterday a marvelous start in the 2012 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men by seeing off in straight sets Poland’s Tytan AZS CZESTOCHOWA (25-16, 25-21, and 25-21).
A minute of silence was observed right before the start of the match in memory of the 26 soldiers that were killed yesterday by a terrorist attack in the south-east of the country, with the Sports Director of the club expressing his condolences to the authorities of the Turkish army.
Halkbank totally dominated the scene with the great attacks of Gundars Celitans (pictured), Can Ayvazoglu and Özkan Hayirli, while Selcuk Keskin and Resul Tekeli helped in defense.
As a result Halkbank is in a very favorable position for the return match of the 16th finals which is slated for next October 27 in Poland.
