Qualification for Playoffs remains demanding task for TOURS VB
News from the clubs
Tours, France, October 16, 2011. France’s TOURS VB organized this past October 8, just before a home match of the national league against AS CANNES, a press conference to discuss with local and national media goals and expectations for the upcoming start of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League.
Organizing Director Boris Labbé started by recalling the format of the competition and sharing some info about the impressive media coverage registered for the past season, including fantastic TV rates for all broadcasters involved. Head coach Mauricio Paes stressed that TOURS VB was assigned by the Drawing of Lots staged this past July in Vienna to a very tough Pool, including ACH Volley LJUBLJANA of Slovenia, Montenegro’s Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA and Poland’s PGE Skra BELCHATOW.
“Our group is tough but our fans will have the chance to see some great players in action here in Tours” he said. “It will be a very demanding task but still we want to qualify for the Playoffs 12 by finishing first or second in the Pool” he added. TOURS VB is joining Europe’s most elitist competition for the ninth time in 11 years having claimed the trophy back in 2005 by defeating Iraklis THESSALONIKI.
