Eczacibasi celebrates own players for their contribution to success of Turkey's national teams
News from the clubs

Istanbul, Turkey, October 13, 2011. Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL, winner of the 2011 Turkey’s Supercup last week, is widely regarded as the most successful Volleyball club in that country – having claimed the national league for a record of 27 times – but also very much appreciated for its enormous contribution to the massive development of female Volleyball in Turkey across the past 45 years. Eczacibasi has indeed helped develop some of the finest players included in all of Turkey’s national teams via a series of ad-hoc recruitment and training programs, being always loyal to a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
A total of 13 players from Eczacibasi have joined Turkey’s national team this year, ranging from 6 seniors to 7 that were included in the junior and youth selections. A statistician and an assistant coach were also provided by that club to the Turkish Volleyball Federation.

Esra Gümüs, Gulden Kayalar Kuzubasioglu, Neslihan Demir Darnel, Neriman Özsoy, Asuman Karakoyun and Büsra Cansu were all included in Turkey’s national team that ended up in third place at the EuroVolley 2011 a couple of weeks ago in Beograd. They were accompanied there by the statistician of Eczacibasi, Yunus Öcal, who also returned home with a splendid bronze medal. They added a silver medal from the 2011 CEV Volleyball European League finals to their personal collection for a memorable international season that was just completed, with Turkey moving up to 10th in the FIVB Ranking.
Three more girls – Melis Durul, Cansu Cetin and Buse Kayacan – were retained by the head coach of the junior national team for the group that finished in third place the Balkan Championship in Serbia while four – Cemre Kuzuloglu, Ceylan Arisan, Hande Baladin and Buse Ene – were part of Turkey’s youth national team whose technical staff included also Eczacibasi’s assistant coach Mustafa Suphi Doganci. Ceylan Arisan was a determining player for the Turkish team that claimed gold at the Youth European as well as World Champs held in 2011. Arisan and Kuzuoglu represented Turkey also at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) that ran through July 25-29 in Trabzon. Buse Ene and Hande Baladin competed for Turkey at the 2011 Balkan Youth Champs in Tirana, Albania, finishing fourth there.

Before the start of the national league sponsored by Aroma the President of the club, Mr. Faruk Eczacibasi, presented all above mentioned players with some special souvenirs – including an iPad – and stated: “We are confident that our national teams will be even more successful than this year in all upcoming international competitions. We have to thank all clubs for the skilled players, support and technical staff they have contributed for the development of our national teams”.
Eczacibasi will certainly not only celebrate the past results but is already looking forward to playing a very important role also in the years to come, starting with a good finish in the upcoming 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League.
