Aliyeva & Azerbaijani colleagues sweep Indonesian national league honours
News from the National Federations

Baku, Azerbaijan, April 21, 2020. After suspending their national league due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the Volleyball Federation of Indonesia have confirmed the team of Jakarta Pertamina Energi as the eventual winners of the women’s competition. The team from the Indonesian capital had finished on top of the charts at the end of the regular season. This represents a truly major achievement for the Azerbaijani trio comprising of head coach Ziya Rajabov and star players Odina Aliyeva and Natalya Mammadova.

Aliyeva (pictured, #5) had something more to celebrate since the Federation announced her as the recipient of the prizes for the best scorer of the competition, best spiker as well as for the Most Valuable Player. As for Rajabov, the Indonesian national league title represents a major accolade after a few years ago the young Azerbaijani coach helped Azeryol BAKU reach the semis of the CEV Cup.

Rajabov, Aliyeva and Mammadova are all still in Indonesia, as they were not yet able to return home due to travel restrictions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
