Luxembourg, February 28, 2018. NANTES VB claimed the third spot in #CEVChallengeCupW semis after their second victory against Viteos NEUCHATEL Université. After the first match, played away and won in straight sets, NANTES VB needed one more point to confirm their place among the top four teams of the competition. 

Here are the all results of #CEVChallengeCupW on Wednesday:

NANTES VB (FRA) vs. Viteos NEUCHATEL Université (SUI) 3-1 (25-20, 25-17, 24-26, 25-22)

• NANTES VB welcomed Viteos NEUCHATEL Université in the gymnasium Jean Jahan of St-Joseph-de-Porterie, with the advantage of the three sets victory from the first match.
• Playing in front of a huge group of local fans NANTES VB started the second match of the CEV Challenge Cup quarterfinals in the best way. In a first tight set of the game, NANTES VB were very focused and won it 25-20.
• As Viteos NEUCHATEL Université fought back, NANTES VB continued with the same pace in the second set, using their block and sharp attacks to win 25-17. By winning two sets NANTES VB confirmed their qualification to the next round.
• While not having much influence on the competition, the following set was won by the Swiss team 26-24, but may have heavy consequences for the rest of the season of NANTES VB, who experienced the injuries of Odette Ndoye and Pauliina Vilponen.
• NANTES VB closed the fourth and last set 25-22, winning their second match against Viteos NEUCHATEL Université.

Sylvain Quinquis, coach of NANTES VB: "I am happy and proud of the path the club has gone through, this qualification is historic for my team, because we will play in CEV Challenge Cup semi-finals for the first time. After that, there's also a bit of a disappointment tonight because we experienced two injuries in one game."
