TRENTINO Diatec to give it all to seize CEV Cup crown

Trento, Italy, April 10, 2017. TRENTINO Diatec are very much looking forward to hosting the first leg of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men Finals on Wednesday night, when they will take on France’s TOURS VB at PalaTrento with the match starting at 20:30 CET. The remake will follow on Saturday, April 15 in France.
“We know that this is not the final of the CEV Volleyball Champions League and nevertheless we will be trying to play our best since the fans and the club have shown so much interest and enthusiasm for this competition. As far as I am concerned, I have never won a European Cup in my career,” said TRENTINO Diatec head coach Angelo Lorenzetti addressing the media. “After taking the third round of the national league semis with PERUGIA, we are in high spirits,” he continued. “However, we should not look back, but only think about the next matches. We feel good and are very motivated. TOURS VB finished third in the regular season of their national league and they keep on improving. They are a tough opponent, have an Italian coach, Giampaolo Medei, and as a result, they changed their way of playing.”
“Their defence game is really good, also because they can count on Hubert Henno, and their side-out game is good as well. Their block and service are precise,” Lorenzetti continued. “We play the first match at home, which means that we will have to play an eventual Golden Set in France but this is not always an advantage for the hosts. Anyway, we should only think about the first match for now and not waste too much energy. I hope that the fans can give us an extra boost of energy as they did when we lost the first set of the home match with VaLePa SASTAMALA. The European matches haven’t arisen as much interest as those of the national league so far but hopefully this will change with the CEV Cup Final.”
