CL silver medallists TRENTINO Volley announce they have registered for 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men

Trento, Italy, May 11, 2016. TRENTINO Volley have announced they have registered to participate in the 2017 edition of the CEV Volleyball Cup. The Italian standout earned the right to participate in the second most prestigious European club competition after finishing in third place the regular season of the 2015-2016 Italian national league.

Once their participation is confirmed by the CEV as the registration process for the 2017 European Cups is still up and running, TRENTINO Volley will look forward to their third appearance in this competition, after losing in the second round back in the 2004-2005 season and finishing second in 2015 when they lost a dramatic final to Russia’s Dinamo MOSCOW. TRENTINO Volley will also celebrate their ninth consecutive appearance in the European Cups; from 2008 through to 2013 TRENTINO starred in the elite CEV Volleyball Champions League and they did the same in 2016, claiming the silver medal at the Final Four tournament held in Krakow, Poland where they lost the ‘grand finale’ at the tie-break to Russia’s Zenit KAZAN.

“The results we have achieved and the continued participation in major continental competitions have confirmed the European status of our club,” said President Diego Mosna. “TRENTINO Volley will be competing in the next edition of the CEV Volleyball Cup, looking as always for high-profile results, which will again provide visibility to our province and to all the sponsors that will be with us in this exciting adventure. To have constantly the opportunity to play an international event is never something banal or predictable; I believe that doing it for the ninth consecutive season, it’s even more a source of pride for the city of Trento and for all our fans.”

The CEV will confirm the teams participating in the next edition of the European Cups at the end of the registration process, whose deadline is set for May 16. However, TRENTINO can already start looking forward to matches with some strong teams from Russia, Poland, Germany and other top and up-and-coming Volleyball countries. The Drawing of Lots is already scheduled for June 30, 2016.
