Everything is ready in Novi Sad for the match that will mark the real climax of the club season for Serbia’s Volleyball family. On Wednesday Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD will indeed host the first leg of the 2015 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men finals once they welcome Portugal’s Benfica LISBOA and the organisers want everything to run smoothly since it does not happen every day that a final of the European Cups takes place in town. The home heroes have called on fans and friends to come and support as they try to achieve their dream of glory hoping to exploit the home advantage before the ‘grand finale’ follows on Sunday in Portugal’s capital. “As we started this European campaign, our goal was to make it as far as possible and now we are in the final,” says home mentor Strahinja Kozic. “Maybe many people abroad do not know us and are surprised, but we have a young team with a lot of potential. This appearance in the finals of the Challenge Cup is the result of many years of hard work. These are all players from our Volleyball school with only a few additions from the outside. We will play against a great team like Benfica which can count on many experienced players. This is the only team that did not lose a single game in this year’s Challenge Cup. Though they are the favourites going into the finals, the last word is not said yet. We take it step by step and we start our campaign with this home match. With the support of our fans I believe that we can win at home.” His words are echoed by Milan Katic: “We expect a great match and I believe in our young players. The atmosphere will be great. We know that we have to play our best and with resilience, fighting from the first to the last point.”
